If you are in the Auckland area, we are conveniently situated about 7 minutes from the airport, or 3 minutes or so off SH20. Great if you have time to fill in before your flight home. Text, ring or email Janet just to check she'll be there if you wish to come in person. Normal opening days are Tuesday to Friday. We are also happy to consider requests to visit on Saturdays and Mondays (including Public Holidays), or visits outside standard working hours. In that case, please just ring or email: janet@saraban.co.nz

But if you are out of town, or just out of time, we can easily cater to your needs online.

So if you like what you see, but let's be honest, you don't know if it's really as good as it looks - here's the kind of info you are probably wanting to have at your fingertips, so you can check it out.

And if in doubt - just ring us! 021 083 03420.  You'll get Janet's cheery voice, happy to talk about your queries.  Or drop us an email.  Just like that.  janet@saraban.co.nz

So - here's the answers to all those questions....

    1. If I buy a painting, will it reach me safely? Here's a testimonial from a recent customer in Singapore:

"Thank you so much for delivering the ... painting so promptly and so safely all the way to Singapore! It was wrapped securely and the painting will look lovely on our designated wall. As mentioned, it's a wedding anniversary present to my husband after 20 years of married bliss! ...The painting will have a special meaning and significance to us. I have appreciated your emails and personalized service. Please thank Daphne as well for a beautiful and inspired piece of art!

Our specialist courier, Pack N Send, are used by many artists and galleries to freight artworks both within NZ and overseas. Both we and our customers have found them to offer an excellent and timely service in every respect.

    2. Not sure about buying art or jewellery online? Ask us to skype or do a video clip so you can see what you are thinking of buying, in more detail

    3. If you are seriously interested in a particular painting, many of the works shown here are held on site with us. Just ask. Otherwise we can arrange to pick them up from the artist, for you to view by appointment - please just enquire.

Please note: paintings marked "framed" or "canvas stretcher" are ready to hang. Where described as "framed", the dimensions given include the frame. Please note that antique, antiqued distressed frames all show slight irregularities due to age or "antiquing" process.  Distressed means it's meant to look a bit patchy!

Jewellery: Our jewellery comes in various presentation boxes, depending on the piece. The presentation boxes are high quality - examples can be seen in photos showing rings.

Rings don't have to be hard to buy online.  Click on the photo of the ring you like, and you'll see our instructions for how to buy the right size.  Easy.  Just make sure you choose your most comfortable ring to compare the size to!

Where we state necklace lengths, these refer to the extended length of the cord or chain when opened out. If it doesn't open, then we'll just say what the hanging length is. Just take a tape measure or scarf, measure off that length, and put it round your neck - does that look the right length for you?

Where we state that a piece of jewellery is made from a certain kind of silver alloy, sterling silver, or other specific metal, this is to the best of our knowledge. You need to be aware though that tribal jewellery does not carry the same assay marks as Western silver. We choose our suppliers thoughtfully, and know this kind of jewellery well, so feel confident in our statements and theirs.

Where hallmarks are present, we mention these, but tribal jewellers worked with a range of metal and silver alloys, so this understanding should be part of your decision making. Tribal jewellery though is more about the beauty and history of the piece rather than simply the metal. Turkomen jewellery especially consciously uses coloured glass and beads, along with other elements that are not necessarily expensive, just as a western artist might use everyday objects in an artwork. This is a reflection of the culture, and part of its charm.

All prices shown are NZ$.  Added $15 flat freight charge on any goods with the ADD TO SHOPPING CART button.

Painting prices are before shipping & related costs. Final price of paintings is dependent on shipping and insurance to you - read "Buy a Painting" for this information.

All images are copyright, & copyright remains with the artist even after the sale of the original artwork. They may therefore also choose to reproduce the image in another format for sale.
