We were proud to have Saraban Tree artist DAPHNE MASON shoulder-tapped by the Bennetton Foundation, to take part in their global project.

In late January we were approached by Rosa Maria Falvo, the curator of Kiwi Consciousness: Contemporary Artists from New Zealand, inviting Daphne to be one of the artists selected to represent New Zealand in the Imago Mundi Luciano Benetton World Art Collection, based in Italy.

Apart from the tight timeframe for completing the work, the biggest challenge was that all artworks were to be done on the 10 x 12cm canvas provided by the Foundation!

The works are being shipped to Italy, where they will become part of the Foundation's permanent exhibition, as well as becoming part of an exhibition presented elsewhere, later in the year (venue still to be confirmed). The NZ works will also appear in a hardback catalogue which can be purchased from the Foundation. For more about the collection, click HERE
